terms & conditions

By using the Anubis service you accept these terms and conditions in full, at which point your IP address is logged and time-stamped. If you are accepting these terms and using the services on behalf of a legal entity, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

These terms and conditions were last updated on 22nd December 2022.

You must accept these terms and conditions in order to use Anubis.

cookies

We're based in the UK, so cookie disclaimers apply.

While using Anubis on your own site will not generate user cookies, the administration tool on this site optionally gives you a cookie to remember your identity. If you choose this option, you understand that while completing challenges on other sites may cause a cookie to be shown in your browser, it isn't issued by Anubis as part of that process flow.

our use of your data

In case you feel the need to see the letters G, D, P, and R here, that's what this section is all about; GDPR.

Your contact details: neither the software or the service provider will intentionally disclose your email address to any third party, with the exception that emails sent to you are delivered using the Postmark service, who will therefore be a party to your email address.

Your password for the Anubis system is one-way encrypted using a salted, 10,000-iteration PBK-SHA1 algorithm, to the extent that we can't read it either.

Where your visitors (also known as "complete strangers") interact with Anubis (where they attempt, pass, and fail CAPTCHA tests), we only store aggregate data; that the event took place, and the time. We don't track identity, IP address, browser versions, etc.

payments and refunds

Here we cover the fact that, irrespective of your exchange rate, our price is fixed in UK £ sterling, and that we don't refund fees you've already used.

All payments are taken in UK £ sterling. While this website displays currency conversion estimates on its front page, these are exactly that - estimates. The UK £ price is what you'll actually pay; your mileage may vary depending on the exchange rate between your bank account currency and the UK pound.

Anubis' policy is, when deemed necessary, to refund only unused fees. In the event that a refund is issued, the associated account will have those unspent tokens removed without exception.

Here we tell you that, if we come across your email address but you don't engage with us, we'll throw it away after a month.

Anubis follows a strict policy regarding retention of user data, and disposes of it on two criteria:

  • Non-engaged email addresses: email addresses we accrue as a result of sign-ups or referrals that aren't followed-up are deleted after one calendar month.
  • Fallow accounts: accounts that have not had any activity within a year - where Anubis isn't deployed on a website, or hasn't seen any activity on any of their instances or domains -will also be deleted.

copyright of these terms and conditions

Look; we accept that most terms and conditions are either professionally-produced (and subsequently vast), or a web developer copies them from someone else's site and chops them about a bit. If nothing else, just think of this as a prize for bothering to scroll to this point:

The service provider grants unrestricted worldwide use, re-use, copying and editing of the text of these terms and conditions for use elsewhere.

By using, re-using, copying or editing these terms and conditions, you accept full and total responsibility for their efficacy, accuracy and use, and indemnify the service provider against any liability incurred by your use of them.
